Russian Orthodox Cathedral. 1912 St Nicholas Orthodox Cathedral was opened and named in memory of Nicholas Alexandrovich, Tsarevich of Russia, who died in Nice. It is the largest Russian Orthodox cathedral in Western Europe. After a longstanding legal battle over the rightful ownership of the Cathedral between 1931 - 15 Dec 2011. This is now legal property of the Russian Federation that is administered by Moscow. While it is also a national monument of France.
